Geographic distribution: the radiated tortoise lives on the island of Madagascar.
Habitat: it lives in the semi-desert areas in the south-west of the island.
Diet: the radiated tortoise is an herbivore, grazing on vegetation.
Size: an adult male measures around 40 cm in length, whereas an adult female measures around 30 cm.
Weight: males can weigh up to 20 kilograms and females up to 15.
Longevity: the radiated tortoise can live up to 100 years.
Threats: it is threatened by habitat destruction.
Protection measures: it is protected under the Washington Convention.
