2018: a record breaking year
With the opening of a spectacular new extension, 2018 was a year that broke all records for NAUSICAA! The second-biggest tourist attraction north of Paris, which is less than two and a half hours away from London and Kent, the National Sea Centre is a real driver of economic development and works to raise public awareness of the importance of better management of the oceans and the resources they harbour.
In 2018, this centre for the discovery of the marine environment, which is the only one of its kind, received a record-breaking number of visitors with over 874,000 people coming to see the spectacularly-sized big tank, representing a 60% increase in visitor numbers.
9 August 2018 was the busiest day with 11,967 visitors. The investment paid off!
